Privacy Policy

On this page

This Privacy Policy explains how Snore Timeline ("the App") and our marketing website (snoretimeline.com) handle your information.

1. Our commitment to your privacy

Your privacy is our top priority. We believe that your personal data should remain yours. Snore Timeline is designed with a fundamental commitment to not collect any personally identifiable information from you.

2. Website visit counting

Our marketing website at snoretimeline.com uses GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly counter, to measure how many people visit. It sets no cookies and stores no personal data: we only see aggregate numbers such as page views, referrers, and countries, and cannot identify you. The website contains no other analytics or tracking of any kind.

3. Information the app does NOT collect

The Snore Timeline iOS app does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

  • Personally Identifiable Information: We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other information that could be used to identify you.
  • Audio Recordings: Your audio recordings are created, processed, and stored exclusively on your device. We do not have access to, nor do we collect, any of your recordings.
  • Usage Data & Analytics: The App does not use any third-party analytics services. We do not collect or track your usage of the App, such as features you use, how long you use the App, or your activity.
  • Health or Medical Information: We do not collect any health-related data, including your snore patterns, sleep stages, heart rate, HRV, blood oxygen, or any data from Apple Health. See "Apple Health Integration" below for how the App uses Apple Health on your device.

These statements describe what the App collects on its own. The App has no account, no sign-in, and no built-in messaging. If you write to us by email, we receive your message and your email address, we use them only to reply, and we never add you to a mailing list. See "Sending feedback" below.

4. Data storage

All data generated by the App, including your sleep sound recordings, is processed and stored locally on your device only. This data is not transferred to any external servers, third-party services, or to the developer.

5. Sending feedback

Settings includes a Send Feedback button. It does not send anything on its own. It opens a draft in your own email app, and your email app sends it only when you choose to.

The draft is addressed to the developer and includes one line of plain text with your app version, device model, iOS version, and language. That line helps us reproduce problems. You can read it and delete it before sending, along with anything else in the draft.

You can attach a screenshot. Choosing one uses the standard iOS photo picker, which gives the App no access to your photo library. Screenshots show whatever was on your screen, so review them before sending.

If your device has no email account set up, the App shows you the developer's address so you can write from elsewhere. Either way, your message travels through your own email account, and the App itself transmits nothing.

6. Apple Health integration (iOS, optional)

The iOS App and Apple Watch companion app offer optional integration with Apple Health. This integration is off by default and requires your explicit permission through the standard iOS HealthKit prompt. You can enable, disable, or change individual permissions at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Snore Timeline.

If you choose to enable Apple Health integration:

  • The App writes the following to Apple Health after each recording: sleep analysis (time asleep and time in bed), sleep stages (REM, deep, light, awake), and respiratory rate during sleep.
  • The App reads the following from Apple Health to display alongside your sleep data: sleep stages, heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), respiratory rate, blood oxygen (SpO2), and wrist temperature. These metrics come from any HealthKit-compatible wearable you already own and use with Apple Health.
  • 30-day backfill: When you first enable Apple Health integration, the App reads up to 30 days of your existing Apple Health data so your sleep journey is complete from day one. This is a one-time local read into the App's on-device storage. Nothing is transmitted off your device.

Apple Health is encrypted local storage on your iPhone. We do not access, receive, or transmit any of your Apple Health data. The data exchange happens entirely between the App, the Apple Watch companion, and Apple Health on your own device(s). Per Apple's developer guidelines, Snore Timeline does not use Apple Health data for advertising or share it with any third parties.

7. Apple Watch companion

The optional Apple Watch companion app records and displays health metrics on your wrist, including live heart rate and HRV during a recording. All processing happens on your Apple Watch and is synced to your paired iPhone via Apple's secure on-device sync. No data is sent to the developer or to any external server.

8. No third-party access

Since we do not collect any of your data from the App, there is no information for us to share with any third parties.

9. Your control over your data

Since all App data is stored on your device, you have complete control over it. You can delete your recordings and all associated data at any time by deleting them within the App or by uninstalling the App from your device. You can revoke Apple Health permissions at any time in iOS Settings; doing so stops new reads and writes immediately.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
