Who builds it

Snore Timeline is an independent app. Menelik Tucker designs and builds the iOS and Android apps and writes every page on this site, the guides included. Questions, bug reports, and feedback go straight to Menelik.

How the app works

Snore Timeline records your night through the phone’s microphone, or a paired AirPods or Bluetooth mic, and analyzes the audio on the device. It detects snores, gasps, coughs, sleep talking, and breathing as they happen, then plots each one on a timeline you can scrub and play back. On iPhone, detection uses Apple’s Sound Analysis framework. Nothing uploads to a server. There is no account, no subscription, and no in-app purchase. How detection works covers the details.

How these guides are written

The guides compare snore tracking apps and explain how to record your own nights. The author builds Snore Timeline, so read the comparisons with that in mind. The sources let you check each claim.

• Every claim links to a source. Each guide ends with a numbered Sources list: App Store listings, Apple Support pages, and published research.
• App Store data carries a date. We re-check privacy labels and prices on the date shown at the top of each page. A privacy label is the developer’s own declaration, and the guides quote it as declared.
• The guides name competitor strengths. When another app does something Snore Timeline does not, the guide says so.
• Snore Timeline features come from the app. The guides describe what the app does today, as documented in the support center.
• No medical claims. Snore Timeline analyzes audio. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose sleep apnea or any other condition.
